About
Here I am.
I joined Booking.com in their Amsterdam office as Graduate Software Developer (নাদান বাচ্চা ডেভেলপার) from September, 2015. I like the work environment here. The culture and food are awesome. The people are very friendly and at the same time so talented that I feel challenged everyday. I have a lot to learn from Booking and already learning a lot from dutch culture as well. The reason because, the more day I’m passing, I understand how much I have yet to learn, the more people I meet, the more I realize how much little I know. Basically while I was in university, I had a lot of time, but I didn’t study well, I didn’t put focus on learning, I didn’t even know how to read stuff. Now I know how to read, but I don’t have enough time. This is something interesting. So these days, I’m learning how to learn and it gives me an amazing feeling.
I competed my B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2013. My HSC’2007 is from Chittagong College and SSC’2005 is from Bangladesh Navy School and College, Chittagong.
After my university, I joined Kona Software Lab Ltd as a Software Engineer. The last role I was responsible for, is to lead a team of four members. But my team members were so much enthusiastic that they didn’t need my lead. I am proud of my team and we worked together to provide our best. We started following scrum and soon after found out that the process we followed till is called ScrumBut. We were trying to get rid of that “But” and be aligned with the standard Scrum process. Despite of these, I enjoyed two and half years of KSL life.
Previously when I was in university, I worked at PROGmaatic Developer Network as a core developer. I enjoyed the works I did there and learned a lot. I also worked with several other companies as a part time developer. As a student I participated into several System Design and Development Contest. I have some interest in competitive programming contests.
While in the 2nd year of my university I learned developing android application. I was amazed that I can see the output of my code in a very few time in these Mobile applications. However I don’t have any biasness to programming languages. I think the languages are different way to solve the problems. But as I started my coding life with C/C++ and later with Java, I feel comfortable with them. I have interest to learn nodejs and python.
While I was in Bangladesh, in my free time I tried to develop android applications, explore system resources, study them. Most of the times I open an article in browser and think that I will read it later, then that tab remains open for weeks and sometimes my browser get lost of the open tabs. I am trying to avoid this behavior by applying “Do it now” theory, and hopefully in short time I can achieve my goal.
Now a days, in the weekends I go out with my bicycle and try to visit nearby places. I find Netherlands quite a lovely country. People are more direct in their style. Most people can speak in english. Also the public transports and cleanliness of the cities are good thing for living. Passing time by dutch nice places is really entertaining.
